Ok here is what I've gotten myself into. I softmodded my v1.6 box with the Splinter Cell SID v2.0. Everything worked perfectly.

Now I have decided to add a bigger hard drive. I followed one of the tuts and everything seemed to work well (using xboxhdm). But when I browse the box (Evox) it still only shows the 8GB available even though I put in a 250 GB Maxtor.

Then I remembered I probably screwed up during the xboxhdm install when I said "No" to the question about "You have a drive larger than 8GB, do you want a G:"

So I thought OK that is the problem, I'll just redo the hard drive. So I put my ISO cd back in rebooted, unlocked the drive, and rebooted to xboxhdm again but it stops during the boot at this:

"Kernel Panic: No Init Found.......init="

Any ideas? Great site, thanks for any help.

I am not a softmod expert but I wonder if unlocking the drive on a softmodded box might be the issue.

I was able to resolve this. My real problem was not being able to "see" or use the extra space above 8GB on my new 250GB HDD. The Kernel Init error just threw me off. So i locked the drive back put it back in the xbox and used the raw FTP commands I found in some other forums: formatpath and formatdrive to enable the F: and G:!!! Everything is perfect now!! Thanks to everybody that works so hard to make this site what it is!!!!!
