Okay, my Xbox keeps loading up with the stupid error message 05. This happens when the modchip is on or off. If the modchip gives off a blue light from within the xbox, then its turning on alright. I burned AIDeluxe to a DVD-R, but my Xbox still doesn't read it. I was wondering if that means i have to reflash my modchip. Can anybody tell me how i can do that? Some of these tutorials are kinda confusing, and i don't know how to do it if my xbox isn't working.

I just realized that i used EvoX's back up program thingy. I copied the backup folder to my comp. I have the bios, disk, eeprom, and hddkey saved on my computer in BIN format. I also have the hddinfo in a notepad file. Will any of this help me?

Unless I have missed something, all you need to do is lock your HD. You can do this from Evox, AID, or unleashX. IF your box can;t read the disc burn it at the slowest speed possible, make sure you have it set to close the session.

the hdd shouldn`t need to be locked for a chipped xbox so It sounds to me like your install isn`t working properly.

Do you move your xbox about from time to time? hub sesions / link ups & what not.

prob just worked loose.

as Rabid pointed out 05 is the hdd unlocked error

Actually, i do move it sometimes. I take it to my aunt's house sometimes, or i move it to get it connected with my router. Would the lights on the modchip still turn on even if it was loose?

I opened up the xbox and found that some of the modchip's wires were not soldered in properly. The red and gray wires were out of their holes. I also found out that i have an Xecuture 2.3B Lite. Would the fact that these two wires were not soldered in mean that would be the reason my Xbox isn't working?

Red is the power but both will stop the chip from working you need to resolder them.
