I have a WD1200JB hard drive. I checked the lock/unlock database and this specific drive has been locked by others. I've successfully softmodded the HDD using Xbox HD Maker & Recover Tool. In the intro screen of this program, I select Option #3 which is "Boot linux with locking/unlocking utilities". My CD has the Eeprom key and when I go to "lockhd -a", I get an error message saying "Error - this drive does not support the ATA security spec" and the drive is unable to lock. I've tried locking this a number of ways like setting the hdd to slave or going into bios and disabling the drive, but to no avail. If it makes any difference, the mobo is a DFI Lanparty UT Nf 4 Ultra-D. I've searched these forums prior to posting, and most say if it doesn't lock then that means you're S.O.L. but since this drive has been locked before, it makes me think I'm doing something wrong.

that simply means that it's not lockable, not good for softmodded xbox.
however that hdd can be used with chipped, or flashed TSOP xbox.
