Hi folks - well after a great time sorting out my modchip. Though Im using the Xenium ICE on my 1.0 box. Only problem is that sometimes I get a solid red led from my chip - open the box - fiddle with it, and then it works again. My chip is solderless and im wondering about applying alcohol to the solder to try and get a better connection. Only problem is that I live in japan and trying to translate stuff is a problem - what type of alcohol can I use? And what is its general purpose? that way i can get the staff guy to understand what im rabbiting on about. Also how do i apply the alcohol - cotton budd a bad idea - i have really no idea.
if anyone else has an idea of avoiding the red led, any info would be appreciated.
Thanks guys!

Bad connection? Rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab would be just fine. I have the 1.0 and they come with a resin material on the soldered pins.
Then reseat your adapter. If it's still being snippy, use the paper trick and you should be online in no time. I've had mine for well over a year and never had an issue, but I also didn't need to use the paper trick. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

The paper trick is proven to work if needed. _________________
