Hey,
Hey guys. I have a 1.4 box that has been on live and im putting in a 120gb hdd and a duox2 mod chip in it. once I have the hdd in the xbox and running. How do i change the eeprom so that I can go on live with it? I have an eeprom from a box that has never been on live as well. Quick responces are GREATLY appreciated. _________________ Blue Chaos
You can keep your eeprom. When a modchip is installed, it boots of the bios of the chip not the xbox. Then it goes to the hacked dash. If you disable the chip it boots off of the bios of the xbox and load the m$dash. So if you install your other dash and apps in e: or where ever eccept c:, when your on live it only see that you have an original c: partition. _________________ Xenium Ice 2.3.1 OS

Dangermouse is correct. Just make sure that you lock the HDD to boot from the original bios/eeprom when the mod-chip is disabled.

Damn Don`t do this as you`ll get your xbox banned along with the 120GB HDD.
You will need to get hold of the eeprom.bin from the xbox with the eeprom you want to use and put that onto your xbox with configmagic.
Keep your HDD`s unlocked untill you`re sure you`re running the new eeprom, Then lock them (Including your stock HDD if you intend to be able to use it at some point.
If you`ve had an xbox on XBL and you want to upgrade your HDD then you have to change the eeprom, I know this from experience.
Then lock them (Including your stock HDD if you intend to be able to use it at some point.

This reminds me of this dual hdd setup tutorial with a toggle switch. I think it would be perfect for the softmodders who still want to play on live.....just toggle to the drive you want to use. _________________ Xenium Ice 2.3.1 OS

That`s fine except It would still be very easy to get your xbox banned,
You`d only have to load a game from hdd that tries to sign you in and bam, your banned.
There are ways to play on xbox live using a softmodded xbox, Don`t try with yours for F`k sake!
I myself have been doing this now for about 7 or 8 months now & 2 of my friends also do the same, I`d have to talk to DJB before I can release any more info on this, but if you`d like to go through all my previous posts you will find all the Info needed.

sorry I didn`t get back to you dark, Been hammering Quake 3 arena big time.
You need to put the eeprom bin into the data folder within configmagic,
then when you load up configmagic you need to unlock the hdd then load eeprom from bin, then update xbox eeprom, then load xbox eeprom & then lock the hdd again (if it was locked in the first place)
then you`ve changed your eeprom.
I believe that you need to have an eeprom from a suitable xbbox i.e: if your using a 1.0 xbox, a eeprom from
a xbox V1.0 to v1.4 will work.
I`m not too sure about compatability between 1.5`s and 1.6`s though.
