I wanted to know if there is a way to stream your local radio stations from XBMC. I know you can do it from linux

Yup, ModGod became very ill and had to undergo some major surgery. He hasnt been available for sometime now but occassionally drops by to say hi..

I dont see why not.. If you have a url you can stream just abuot anything to your xbox.. I stream satellite tv, radio etc etc.. lol

You need to setup DNS on your xbox and obviously have it on the network.. But apart from that you just edit another stream file .str..

I am fairly new to this and I know how to set up the DNS but how do you edit another stream file .str and what folder under XBMC would I look for it to edit or add a url

basically a stream file is just a little text file with a url in it pointing to the media/movie or music you want to stream..

Find a streaming file that is already on your xbox or download some streaming files.. Then you just open the .stm file using NOTEPAD or any text editor and edit the url/location.

You should be able to stream from just aout anywhere.

Sorry i dont have any files laying around otherwise i would attach one for you!
