Hi,

I have just modded a v1.0 box with Xenium and OS 2.3.0, and added a Western Digital 160 Gig hard drive. Everything worked fine, and during the upgrade it created the F partition.

I installed EvoX and few apps and games in the F partition. However, I noticed afterwards that I should have used a Bios which activates the LBA48 to enable the larger than 137 Gig HD. Right now, my drive is seen as a 137 Gig. So I was able to flash a new bios that supports the LBA48 and it seems to work fine.

My question is as follows: Is it possible for me to increase the F partition size to fully use the rest of the drive (missing 23 Gig) without reformatting the entire F partition (using AIF for example) and therefore loosing my already installed software and games which are in F???

Thanks in advance Smile

P.S. HQ is a fantastic site, and very useful... Great job everyone!!!

OR you could add a G: partition.

Hey cirrus,

Since I have to guess what bios you are using, I guessed m8plus. If that's the case, use evtool to patch the bios with lba48. You can have partition 6 take rest of drive. That means a big F drive. Save the bios and FTP it to the c:\ drive, then reflash your bios to your chip. You should be able to see the full capacity of your 160. I don't believe you need to reformat. Oh yeah, for future reference, AID 2.11 has every bios you would ever need.

Thanks for your reply guys...

Sorry for missing out information about my bios. Yes I am using exox.m8plus.fc.137.bin (512K) that came with AID2.1F as you suggested.

I have since then formatted my G: drive and indeed, it gave me the 22Gig I was missing out from my 160, and the F: drive still contains the 137 Gig and all the soft it contained.

Thanks guys for your help.

Cheers!
