Please help I have a softmodded xbox and I unlocked the harddrive and I got the password teamassembly. The next time i booted my xbox i got the screen service required. call customer support. the light flashes red and green
I have tried booting original games but still the same screen have i knackered my xbox?
Any help would be greatley appreciated

This is the error mesage 5 - "kernel - HDD not locked (retail bioses require the hd to be locked)"

can i not take the hrad drive out attach it to the pc and lock it from there?

You need the eeprom to lock the hdd. You need the hdd locked to backup the eeprom....catch 22

I've sure liked the Xecutor 2.6 CE (can be found for around $29). It does pretty much everything I want.

No. And if you don't believe us, why not try some of the things you're asking (they won't take that long, and you'll learn something in the mean time)? At this point, the ONLY way I've ever seen a way for someone to get the eeprom off a box, is to chip it, which then allows you to boot unlocked drives, unsigned code, and config magic to grab the eeprom.
