Hello,
Having a heck of a time installing a new hard drive in my modded V1 xbox with executer 2 chip. Hard drive is new Western Digital 120g and using auto-installer deluxe 2.01. (Have also tried slayer 2.6 to no avail)
Problem is....When I install the new hard drive and attempt to boot it up for the auto-installer, I get an error 21.
This is what I have tried....
1. Used pw2, CS, Master jumper settings each repeatedly and no change. (functioning drives are set at pw2)
2. Got a working auto-installer cd from a local game shop to eliminate the possibility of poor media, old DVD burner.
3. Auto-installer cd boots correctly when I put the original hard drive(s) back in, so I know it works.
4. Tried another identical new hard drive (I have 3) with same results to eliminate faulty hard drive.
5. Have tried powerup, powerdown over 20 times consecutively to eliminate the "keep trying" theory.
Have I missed something? I know there are alternate methods of doing this, but everything I read says I should be able to set this hard drive up out of the package using the auto-installer. I really don't want to crack my PC open and try to format/partition and load config files as I have multiple hard drives I am trying to set up.
I tried to look through the forum for a similar situation, but either ie's not there or I missed it. Hope you can help.
Thanks!

21 - anywhere - This error says that the machine was booted to display a error, basically someone told the machine to reboot (or launch a xbe) with this flag, and the error code just means its been rebooted by the flag.
My understanding is that there are some hdd's that are not compatible and I've been trying to find the list we have here regarding that.
In the mean time there is one here:

Also be advised that your bios may not be able to handle a 120 gig hard drive and may need to be updated for a drive of that magnitude. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th
