I have softmodded my xbox and made a backup of the MS dashboard and the modded dashboard. I have patched the MS Dash. I have also installed evox. What i would like to know is am i going to get banned if i start the xbox with an orginal game in try to go on Live. Also, with having a backup of both the mod dash and the MS dash, is there a way to restore each dash if i want to play Live without the mod installed. Without redoing the softmod via Splinter Cell. If i can cold boot a game like io mentioned earlier, what can i not do?

Well, since you made a backup of the original ms dash and configuration, you're in luck, you can restore it and then play on xbox live. Otherwise, you're really just plain out of luck. You will DEFINATELY get banned if you try to play xbox live with a softmodded machine. Maybe not right away, but it will happen, trust me. And really the only other way to get the softmod back is to do it all over again. That's why installing a chip is probably the best way to go if you want to still play on xbox live. Nowadays, you don't even have to solder anything either, there are solderless adapters for every version of xbox out there, so even a noob can do it. And they're not that expensive really either. You're able to play on xbox live with a chipped box because you have the ability to switch off the chip that is running the "hacked" bios. _________________ XBOX v1.6c

Thanks for your reply. The reason i went to a softmod is because my Xbit konked out on me. Many people have said that cold booting will work but i didn't want to recommend it until i was certain it was safe. As for restore the MS Dash, that's what i figured because there would be no way to transfer the mod Dash back. For me this is no problem since i have spinter cell and the mem card with the necessary install files, but for others it is a different story.

ok if i restore the soft mod, what does it delete? will the softmod exploit still be saved? cuz i want to try xbox live and still be able to use the mod if i don't want live
