I have a XBOX with evox M7 eject fix BIOS and I wonder does it support large hard drives (LBA48) and also what would be advantages of upgrading to a newer BIOS?

I would just use a newer bios. I personally use X2 4983.06, but you can also use the Evox M8 bios. Don't use the M8_16 unless you have a version 1.6 xbox. _________________

well, I 'm not sure which way was the xbox modded, (whether it was a soft mod or a chip mod) so I'd rather stick with present BIOS if it supports a larger drive

well you need to figure out how it was modded because the methods of upgrading the hard drive vary like Gary Coleman and Jessica Simpson depending on how its modded.
Does this help? Or is the only way to figure it out to open up the XBOX

Ok, I opened up the XBOX and I'm still not sure which way it was modded. I don't think I can see any mod chips, but also the points that need to be soldered in order to flash TSOP don't look connected (or the line between then is to thin for me to see).
any ideas guys?
Also in order to find out whether my M7 BIOS supports large drives could I just use
Evolution dashboard to back up my BIOS to HD and then open it with XBtool to see whether it supports larger drives?
