I have been given an a broken v1.6 xbox that gives an error 21 on boot. I was able to open it up and hotswap the drive to get UXE installed on it. When I tried AID it would repeatedly restart or crash. Pulling the MS Dash .zip off the AID image and sending it to the ftping the MS Dash found on the AID image, but that again gave me an error 21. Any idea how to get the box back to stock, and have it work?

Does the xbox that is showing the e21 have a modchip?? I didnt see it in your signature?? Or is it softmod.. If its softmod it will be a little more playing around.
If you have a mod-chip:
- did you format the c:\ drive using AID on the HDD giving you this error??
Thats what i would do..
I would format the C:\ drive of the corrupt hdd and then reinstall the M$ Dashboard totally.. As long as you have a modchip you can always boot the AID2 and then reinstall M$ Dashboard to the C Drive..

No, I do not have a mod chip. I have been instaling the drive in my computer and using xboxhdm to copy files over to the harddrive after formating the drive. I have also tried copying files over ftp once I had EvolutionX installed. I couldn't use AID directly because it was too unstable.

I dont know what you mean by saying AID is unstable..
You may have to try another brand of media in your xbox before it will read it..
Then you can just install the M$ Dashboard no problems.. I use it all the time.. Actually only just reformat 2 x xboxes entirerly and setup again from scratch..
Is the DVD-ROM drive on the way out maybe?? It could be so many things.
Just stick with it.. Im sure you will get it..
