Hey all I just softmodded by xbox today...Basicaly to get the multimedia functionality...DIVX etc...
So I started looking at ROMS and it's really kool option now I've purchased my VIP membership and got the Emulators Auto install from the VIP Section...but I'm windering if ROMS are illegal? because i don"t have any interest in downloading xbox games because i"ve purchased pretty much everyone i want but is dowloading roms legal or not?

Really it depends on the laws in the country which you live in..
For me in Australia we are only allowed to download roms if we own a original version of it..
eg. MAME ROMS.. If you have arcade boards (original) like MORTAL KOMBAT, PACMAN etc etc like i DO then you are allowed to keep backups of those roms and use them on your xbox no probs.. (well thats what im aware of).
SNES ROMS - If you own the original cartidges etc etc
I have just about every console there is lol with tonnes of originals as ive been into gaming for many years.. So really i can download lots of roms and use them legally.
But, seriously.. Check with someone who is in your country.. They are all different.. Just like music downloads etc etc.
