So I did the softmod on my Xbox this weekend...the problem is I did before I found Xbox-HQ so I did not use anything from here to do it...


But anyways I have EvoX install with the Xbox-HQ skin so I figure the files are originally from here I got them on some Xbin IRC chanel...The instructions are here: http://www.techfreaks.org/articles/modxbox.shtml
They work PERFECTLY BTW...

Now I've downloaded the AID and I gotta say it looks like an amazing product... But now I'm hesitating to what are my next step I just purchased a 80gb hard drive today and I'm hesitating which I should slap in first...I'm thinking the hardrive needs to go in first this way it wil be less stuff to move from 1 harddrive to the other...

And I was going to follow these steps to change my hd http://www.techfreaks.org/articles/modxbox2.shtml

Since I'm newbie to all of this I was wondering if anyone could shed a little bit light on my concerns...

Well you could follow that tutorial or you could stick with the official site and follow some of our members tutorials for upgrading your hdd.

Ill link you to some softmod tutorials now for upgrading your xbox hdd.

upgrade hd with a pc (softmods):

upgrading a softmodded xbox with a bigger hd:

PLEASE REMEMBER:
- The most important thing to get a backup of once your xbox is softmodded/modchipped is your eeprom, hdd key info..

You can use Auto Installer Deluxe or EVOX DASHBOARD to make a backup of your eeprom and other information.. It saves the information on your xbox hdd under C:\BACKUP\

They are the most crucial files..

Modchip users:
btw. if you had a modchip installed all you would need to do is install the new HDD and then boot AIdeluxe in your xbox with the modchip on.. It would find the new hdd and format/partition it for you..

anyway, good luck with it and i hope some of the tutorials on HQ help.
