Can somebody please point me towards instructions on how to configure Xebian Linux to output 1080i (1920x1080) to an HDTV Televison set via component inputs.

I have all the necessary hardware (including version 1 modded Xbox) but when it outputs now everything is very sharp but huge and basically impractical to use.

you will need to change your x11 config so it can use the HDTV video settings.
