That's flippin' awesome. I recently just purchased a new xbox to fiddle around on and it's a 1.6 so I might just have to pick up one of those to test it out and how reliable it will be. I wonder how long it will be before that can be purchased anywhere. Isn't there another chip that claims that it can be solderless on a 1.6 machine? _________________ XBOX v1.6c

yea its called the spider chip it install`s with small solid wires that plug into small holes in the board 1.6 / I have heard the popp out pretty easy though

The Spider Chip is a joke.. I have had people try to give me those free to install on machines for my customers... you know if I am passing on free stuff that it must really really really suck. Really!

Did my 1.6 with the Sp.Ice, took a little longer than the 30secs they claim, but is quick.
Nice part about it is, all you have to do is remove the hard drive & dvd drives, no need to take out the mobo.
The hardest part is linning up the contact wires, might take about 5-10 mins to get it right the first time.
Having done a few other mods, this one is the easiest I've seen yet.

DO NOT BUY A SPIDERCHIP!!! If I save one person the $40 from one of those things its good enough! I have gone through 2 of them but was lucky enough to get it exchanged for an Xenium S.P. Ice! The things don't fit, I tried everything with my old one but if anybody reads this THOSE THINGS ARE CRAP!!!

... i love my spidey and its always worked for me ... been in and out of over 30 boxes for fixing and hd upgrades ... i like my spidey .... comeon guys lol and the wires dont pop out if you hook them around and under the holes lol thats what i do
however ... i am looking into getting a s.p.i.c.e. ... or does the X3 have a solderless adapter ... im planning on this going into a 1.0 or one of the older ones _________________ Blue Chaos
Ordered and paid for this chip in early feb and still havent received it.Man am i looking forward to receiving it and trying out my first modded xbox.Will i ever get this chip cos im getting excuse after excuse and was wondering...has anyone actually received this chip and tried it out cos im an impatient uk resident...lol
