hi guys i'm new to this, and an old guy as well so please b gentle with me
xbox ver 1.1 fitted with xcuter 2.6ce 5053 bios
the orginal hdd in xbox is dead
i've put in a 80 giga hdd and tried to format and load using slayer auto install, kept egtting coruptions and xbox would not run
put in a 10 giga hdd loaded using aid 3.0 that hdd works ok
re-formated the 80 gig hdd in computer using ntsc(or what ever it is--not fat 32)
put that in to xbox with aid 3.0 disc still in
i get the windows logo then coruption and freeze

anyone advise me whats wrong, the 80giga hdd was working ok as the master hdd in my desktop 2 days ago (changed it for a 160 gig hdd)

so you tryed puttin the 80 hd on your box then runing aid and formateing and installing a dash to load ?

yes tried that

tried formating maxtor 80 gb in computer using xboxhdm (formated ok)
put it in xbox xbox logo comes up then srceen corupts and No13 on screen

put in a 10 gb format it with aid 3.0 works ok

the maxtor 80gb works ok as a computer hdd
think the problem is the cable selcet put of the hdd,
if i put jumper on master the xbox still corupts,

so i'm still at a lost as to what the probelm is

i said did yo try running 80 gb hd on your xbox and formateing it with aid 3 ...

since you have a chip.

Change your jumper setting on the 80gb disk to slave
