A cople of questions:
1. Is there a special utility to "Ghost" or "Drive Image" an xbox drive? I tried both of these utilities and they did not find a partition on the drive. I think the xbox uses FATX?
2. I have a Western Digital WD1200JB 120Gb drive that I can't lock. I tried it on 2 different computers, and both gave me the "Error - this drive does not support the ATA security spec." I know that I am following the correct method (via the linux cd that I made) since I was able to lock a maxtor drive with the "lockhd -a" command. There are 4 entires in the xbox-hq database that users have said they have successfuly locked the drive and zero that says they have not.
Any suggestions?

I'm so sick of messin' with this stuff, as a newbie I know what I want, it's just how do I get there.
Regarding adding a modchip, I know that's probably the way to go but I'm just not comfortable soldering, yet... and as far as the chips, I have Filet Minon taste with a hamburger budget.

convince a friend to let you try locking the drive in their computer, sometimes its just your computer being a bitch

I tried it in 2 computers and it didn't work. Anyhow, I made a Franstein's monster of my Xboxes, I switched the motherboards between my xboxes and should be happy camper now (for at least a little while!)
