Hi,
Just done xbox no 4 with the SID / AID combo.
This was a 15/02/2002 pal model.
Used memory card and SC exploits.
Very nearly messed it up this time ! - I loaded the SC exploits into Splinter Cell - got the SID menu - backed up the m$ dash - installed softmod - then I forgot to go back to the SID menu to load a dashboard !
Of course when I rebooted I got error 21. I restored the m$ dash and went to bed !!
Did it again tonight - and installed evox from the SID menu - it booted fine to the evox dash. Then I couldnt get my AID disc to boot. This is on a CD-RW and has worked fine before....I made another disc on a DVD and it was fine.
I thought it would be a breeze this time !!!
Checked it out & it boots to evox with tray closed - SID menu with tray open and it boots fine to m$ dash from evox. Both original and backup discs work OK.
Phew !
Number 5 come on in !!!

The more softmods you do the more confident you'll get. The main is to remember to back up the ms dash first.
One small tip though, before softmodding take a look at the C drive using the File Manager. if you see this folder "xboxdashdata.185ead00" that means you can run the Patch MS 5960 without having to use AID to update the MS Dash.
Keep up the good work...

Thanks for the support forahobby & DJB.
On AID is it when you run 'NKpatcher & m$ dash' that the dash upgrades ?
I will see if I can remember to check the C drive with SID next time for the folder. Then I presume with AID you just need to install a dash from the softmod section and you are up and running.
Thanks again. _________________

Yes, if you install the NKpatcher + MS Dash from AID 2 it automaically sets it all up for you.
