Hello All!
I recently helped install the X-Chip (latest version I'm sure) into a V1.0 xbox of one of my friends. The chip powers on correctly and boots to the cromwell bios. I also have the X-Control software installed and working properly with the chip. It was kind of interesting getting going because I accidently flashed the chip (I believe) but X-Control comes with a backup version of the bios with the software so I put that back onto the chip and everything is back to where I started from, which is cromwell loads upon boot. I basically have 2 MAIN questions and some questions within those questions.
1.) How do I get EvoX installed now (from Cromwell)
a. Do I need to flash it and how exactly do I go about doing that?
b. Will that auto-installer that I've been reading so much about work for me now?
2.) Once I get the new dashboard(s) installed, how do I set it up to turn off if I want it to. I know that there's a way to do it from within X-Control but their documentation is pretty horrible, either that or I'm just an idiot. Basically I'm assuming that you hold a certain button upon botting it and it will restart with the chip off which is what I want so I can play xbox live.
I tried looking through the forum and searching the internet but couldn't find any decent tutorials. Thanks for any and all help!
