i have softmodded 8 regular black xbox's without a problem. i use a modified aid2 disk (i put roms in the emulators folders to make things go faster) oblviously burned to dvd, and everything goes fine. than someone wants their halo xbox done. so i do everything normal. put the game save on the hd, boot mech assault, run linux, make ms backup, wipe the drive, install softmod and dashboard (unleashx). boots everything fine. tried to run the aid2 disk and it didn't load, and it won't even load game backups. I use hp dvd+r disks. so i ended up ftping everything over and it took forever. he has a remote and wanted the ms dash to play dvds but since i was unable to boot aid2 i told him he was S.O.L. because that is the only way i can install and patch the ms dash, is there another program that will utilize the remote or are there any known dvd(+-)r disks that a halo xbox will read?
thanks

I've used Ritek and Memorex DVD-Rs. I've only modded a few boxes that would actually allow me to read DVD+Rs and they all had Thompson DVD drives in them.

i don't know if you are just talking about halo xbox's but I haven't had any problems with hp dvd+r disks on non-halo xbox's yet. and i even burn all my games at 8x without any problems.

I know what you mean. I have a couple of boot disk`s I made a long time
ago on dvd+r they only work in my old samsung dvd drive.
my thompson, phillips and hitachi don`t wanna know, however
dvd-r do work in all dvd drives i`ve ever come across, some need
a few attempts before they`ll load but they always do.
