I live in the US and have an xbox that is setup in NTSC-US video mode. I've got a few games that are PAL and want to try them out, but when I boot I just get the black screen. Is it safe to enable write-back to EEPROM and change video mode to PAL? I've just read a few things about owners ending up with corrupt EEPROM's and having unbootable Xbox's - which is a pain I'd rather not deal with. EEPROM has been backed up, so I could get restore it if things got really bad, but I just don't want to figure that out.

Xbox is a 1.6a with a Smartxx LE V2. Primary bios is a Yoshi version of 256k M8 Plus 1.6. I've also got a straight up M8 Plus 1.6 that I can load, but Yoshi supports IGR reset and it works everytime.

Can your TV handle PAL?
I know my TV and moniter handle
both PAL & NTSC cos thats why
i bought them.
changing your xbox's NTSC, PAL settings shouldn't make your
eeprom go bad, at worst you just
won't be able to see whats going
on. then you have to take it to
the tv shop with you. (saves actually buying a tv to fix it!)
