can anyone help ..i have a pc with ics setup and an xbox with avalaunch 049.3 connected to pc via xover cable and my dsl modem is connected to my pc via usb ...
do i really need a second nic card to use the update dash facility ////,,,

never used it connected to usb but does the xbox show its connected to the interenet? (in the bottom left corner it should show your ip addy if your conencted to internet, aswell as the newsfeeds should be working in the bottom right)
otherwise just go to settings and pick update dashboard and see if anything comes up

No you don't need a second internet card. If you are on XP all you need is to run the network wizard and check the option that says that all computers connect to the internet thru your computer and that your computer has direct access to the internet. Then when it prompts for the other computers turn on your xbox which should be connected to your comp with a crosscable and it will automatically setup your connection. I did it with my comcast cable modem and worked as a charm. _________________ 2 Xbox V 1.0

ok i tried it and windows says i need to run the network wizzard on the other computer or nake disc for the other computer i picked just finish the wizzard, the xbox will not acc. the internet any ideas? _________________ XBOX ver.1

I set my cable moden up thru USB (to the internet) than a crossover cable to the NIC (ethernet adapter)and the xbox, ran network wizzard chose this PC hooks to the internet all others run thru it, it sets it up, changed ip on xbox to match, it FTPs a game in about 10 -15 minutes, I can link to kai thru XBMC but I cant get it to link to xbox live hope that helps you _________________ XBOX ver.1
