hI!

I have been the slightly frustrated, but happy owner of an XBIT modchip for a couple of weeks now.

I spent quite some time getting the chip to fit no-solder style but eventually got it and installed the Slayer Evox, appz...package NO PROBLEM!

BUT yesterday, I had to spent some time fitting the chip again as it had popped out of position (surprise) and finally got that done again..

NOW, I re-flashed a evox m7 BIOS to my chip using Xbox-color to mark it -> I set the settings for the BIOS? files to go on E:

Ok, I put in Slayers - boots up just fine - I select the Install evox, appz etcetc. and the install goes as planned.

I take out the CDRW and reboot - nothing.. The LED is orange so modchip is 100% but xbox starts up in normal screen mode..

I startup the Slayers CD again- this time re-building the hdd b4 trying the whole Evox process over again - same result..

Can anybody tell me why? My first guess would be that since Evox installs to C: usually, my xboxcolor BIOS should have the path to C: as well?? Does that make aNY sense at all Very Happy

Cheers
Mdt

sounds to me like the bios your running doesnt support booting to
c:\evox.xbe

FTP into your xbox and tell me the file you have in the root of your XBOX C:\ PARTITION..

You will probably have something like this:
evox.xbe
xboxdash.xbe

If this is the case.. Boot up the slayers auto installer again and ftp into your xbox using the ip displayed on the slayers screen..

1. rename your xboxdash.xbe file to msxboxdash.xbe...

2. rename you evox.xbe to xboxdash.xbe

3. take out the dvd/cdrw (slayers) and reboot your xbox..

ALL SHOULD BE DANDY!!

I had this problem with my little brothers enigmah-x modchip when i upgrade his dash using slayers.. Thats all i did to fix the problem..

also in your evox.ini make sure that the MSDASHBOARD links to your newly renamed msxboxdash.xbe

hope this helps mdt

Smile

Hehe! I just needed to point the path of the evoxfiles to the c: drive when I made my colored BIOS - then slayer installed and ran w/o a hitch! Very Happy

Just like we both said! LOL

Thanks fah!

Cheers,
mdt
