I installled an x2.6 to v1.4 xbox. When i boot up box i see the "xecuter" under the the xbox logo, so i know it is installed correctly. However no matter what type of dvd-r or cd-rw i use the xbox gives me the the "your xbox can't recognize this disc. Make sure it's an xbox disc...." warning. The xbox drive is a samsung, so it should recognize most discs i believe. Also i am using qwix101 to create xiso and nero to burn. Anyone have any ideas?

Have you installed a BIOS on your modchip yet?

Are you booting the xbox with the modchip turned on?

enable is on

OK it sounds like it still could be a media problem.
Qwix is pretty reliable in making ISOs etc.
BTW, what are you trying to run on your Xbox?

Try a copied dvd too, it's unlikley but could be a dodgy laser/drive if it won't read stuff.

I am trying to load evoX

oh and i have tried memorex among others, i know they are supposed to be the most reliable
DJB
is the main file on the cd you're trying to burn called evoxdash.xbe or default.xbe? It needs to be called default.xbe before it can boot off a cd.

do you have anything else you can test in the drive?
* Burned DVD Movies
* Normal DVDs
* Normal Games ??

normal games, dvd's and audio cd's all work fine. I don't have anything burned to test out besides the iso.
DJB
Maybe try another ISO to burn.
If you are wanting to set your xbox up or something like that, try my Auto-Installer Deluxe v1.01. It's got everything you'd ever need and more.

I'm unsure why you posted again....
It seems everyone is doing all they can for you in the other forum sections.
Just because you are using a Samsung doesn't mean it will read EVERYTHING. I have difficutly with Maxell and Memorex DVD+R's with Samsungs. I have had many disks fail with the Samsung drive. Especially, DVD+R
if you stick with DVD-R's you should be good.
I am assuming you are backing up games to DVDs??

i'm sorry i didn't realize that when i posted in one room it got sent to all the moderators untill i entered the vip room. I didn't mean to be a pain in the ass.
I did find out however that none of the discs i have been burning work on my onther modded (and fully funtional) xbox. It is a v1.0 with an x2.3b lite in it. I at one point thought the problem might have my dvd-rw drive, so i burned a cd-rw on a off of a different computer. So i would have to assume that there is something wrong either my process in making iso's or in burning them. I have followed the tutorial's on this website pretty closely. So if anyone has noticed something that might have been left out of them or something i may have missed, i would greatly appreciatte your input. thanx.
sorry again for the repost

I'll go to your other post and see if I can spot something. The only reason multiple posts are a pain is because if someone wants to suggest something, they have to go back and forth between the posts and see what trouble-shooting has already been done...thats all..
No biggie...we'll see what we can get going for you. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter
