Well I just decided i want xbox live to work. I"m moded with xecuter 2.3b lite and I bought an HD preloaded with unleashx and apps. The trouble lies in that if i turn off the mod chip i get a service error after the xbox logo comes up. What do i need to have so i can get regular xbox dash to work? What is your error code that was furnished on the screen?
If it was 05, then just do what Cap269 said. If it was error 13 or 21 then you have a dashboard issue.

I did some searching before i came back to check for replies. I came to the conclusion that it needed locked and you guys confirmed that. It is 05. The UnleashX that i have doesn't have ConfigMagic. Ah well I found it and downloaded it. FTPed it to my xbox under the apps folder. Nothing happened. I dont think i know how to download apps right. That is one thing that bites about P2P...you never know what you are getting.
Most autoinstallers have the ability to lock and unlock your HD too...so if you have a Slayers disk laying around??
When I first got into modding this site was a godsend. I was able to get all the files/apps that I needed to make sure I didn't run into issues like that.
Hope you find a working copy soon.

Oop, just looked in the wrong section. Its under eeprom tools in the usual places, silly me. well I got ConfigMagic to work.
