Hi guys, Happy New Year and all that. I hope you all had a great new years and looking forward to the year ahead.
I just wanted to share some pics of my first attempt at modding a Arcade1UP cabinet. It turned out pretty dam nice and it only took a few hours to mod (most of the time was spent waiting for parts to arrive, and building/configuring the retropie image). If you're looking to convert your own cabinet, its simple, and well worth taking a look.
What you'll need:
- USB Encoder OR USB Encode + Buttons
- New Joysticks (or you can rewire the original)
- Raspberry PI 3B + Power Supply (I used the 3B it was cheap)
- LCD Display Controller with HDMI (see ebay here)
- SD Memory Stick
- Retropie Image
The main thing you'll want to double check it the model number on the back of your monitor. Each series uses a different monitor, so you'll need to buy the right HDMI/VGA converter for that model. There are plenty of videos on YouTube which will show you how to connect your monitor. if you get stuck. Here's a link to ETA Prime's YouTube video which first caught my attention late last year.
EDIT: Don't mind the blue line down the middle of the screen. Arcade1up have already sent out a replacement monitor, but I just havent fitted it yet. lol

Got it all finished just in time for quarantine! haha Loving it. Played OUTRUN for a good few hrs last night, started on some of my other favorites attempting to finish them all. _________________ HQ Network:

It was great to see your arcade setup last weekend, mate. Your VR setup with the motion cockpit was amazing. I can't remember the last time we hung out like that, man. Let's do it again soon. _________________ XBOX 360 ELITE:
