Apologies, I am a newb but have read the manual
I have installed the winuaex emulator. On my evox dash on bootup I get options like "Play game or media from dvd" "self installed emulators" etcetera.
My perhaps dumb question is how can I get the winuaex emulator to be listed under the "self installed emulators" section or even as a new item on this menu?
Any help appreciated, I have the m8 bios with standard hd and installed it to E: which has the most space free as F has 0 free.
Thanks.

Ahh, the old Commodore Amiga emulator hey?
When WinUAEX is installed it should show up in the Emulators menu, however if you wish to make a link for it which goes on the actual front of them menu, do this:
F Drive will have no space available if it's a stock-standard HDD.
Hope that helps...

I managed to do it with the ftp software by moving the folder to where my setup expects it as can`t seem to edit the file you mentioned, turns out my xbox has been setup to expect it in a seperate emulators folder within another (I bought it pre modded though the guy did a very good job so I`m very happy with it ).
You said about editing the ini file, what software can I use to do that?
I`d like to be able to remove xmbp from the dash menu, I can physically get rid of the data and it still runs fine but the menu entry for it shows in red and I think if I remove the menu entry it won`t show up then as xmbc is much better.
Thanks, appreciate the help

You can use anything to edit the evox.ini file, just ftp it from your xbox to pc and use notepad.

Cool
It's good to see someone going off and doing some reading for themseles, it's the best way to learn stuff rather than just asking, mainly because there might be more to what you can do rather than what one person tells you.

I did some reading
Figured out the setup via my ethernet and still couldn`t get it working so posted on the forum about what I had done and turned out I have the wrong connection (right end but not a crossover cable).
But by reading and googling I was able to set it up so with the right lead it should work okay

Mental,
Good work. I could even say you've graduated n00b school
What you have done here is EXACTLY what anyone should do when having a problem, do a little research. Most of the time google will pick up pages from either us or xbox-scene which will either point to a forum or tutorial.
BTW, if you were going to get a different cable all together, keep your exsisting one. If you ever get a Switch or Hub you can use it again

I shall keep the cable, I`ve got a few computer bits laying around and every now and then they come in useful to build up new ones
I`m getting there, I have to remember to thank the programmers of auto installer - it`s absolutely brilliant, so easy to use.
I didn`t have any problems with it, being a newb I didn`t know what some things were until I read the accompanying pdf file but that was nice and easy to understand.
The auto installer installed to the emulators directory, which I now realise is where emulators should go. My setup has a different emulators folder elsewhere and I just had to use the xbox ftp program to swap the WinUAE folder to where my xbox expects it.
I`ve got to say it, the xbox is much better than I expected

Your thanks is accepted, as it was me that made the main portion of it.
