Hey all, I soft modded years back on my original xbox and for some reason it isn't working anymore.
I wanted to softmod but locating all the requirements will probably be impossible. Is there a way, since it has been softmodded before, to restore that?

Is there any error code shown on screen and what colour is the front LED after you fire up the Xbox?
If it is softmodded still and it is, perhaps, just the dash that has become corrupted for some reason then you should still be able to boot a rescue disc or installer like HeXEn or AID. Both those and others are still easily found.
That will give you FTP access and a File Manager with which you should be able to get any dash problem dealt with quite easily. If it is an old softmod then updating it using HeXEn would be a good idea anyway and should fix everything in the process.
If the original exploit/installer game saves(s)are still on the HDD then, if you still have a copy of the original game, then it should be possible to get to the installer dash which likewise allows FTP access and also has a File Manager.

I donated to the site for a year so if there is anything I need to download I have access.
I have powered up the Xbox and it goes to the original screen. I have checked in the memory section to find this. Linux Installer, dvd2xbox, fce, Splinter Cell with a white background and blue swirl (probably the exploit),surreal64 XXX, UnleashX Xbox Launcher, and than the regular game saves.
Thats the status, what would be the best method to bring it back to the modded state? by the way finding a original Spinter Cell may be impossible.

ok, i take it there isn't much activity here and that is understood. Just kinda feel like I'm talking to myself lol. Updates: found a retro store with an original edition splinter cell and it will be here in 5-7 days.

I was able to get the auto installer deluxe to come up but when I try to install soft mod it gets an error. what do I need to do?

So you have an original copy of Splinter Cell right?
You need to get the modified save game over to a memory card, cope the save game from the memory card to the hard drive, boot the game and load the save. Then you're in.
(all from memory but I think that's right)
