I have unleash x installed, I know how to ftp, but when I ftp an emu to my box, it does not show up under apps but does show in the file explorer under apps, I have tried E, E apps, and xbmc, I need to know how to run an emu in the dashboard

Hello,
Create a folder in E/ called Emulators, then FTP your emu there.
It should show up under Emulators in UnleashX.

tried that and it shows up in file explorer but not in emulators, I have tried fceux, and mednafen

What version of UnleashX are you running ?

you may have to edit the unleashx config.xml for it to show up, add this in the `Menu` section of your config.xml if its not already there :

<List Text="Emulators" Sort="On" Auto="On">
<Path>E:\Emulators</Path>
<Path>F:\Emulators</Path>
</List>

am I not ftping in the right way persay, I have tried copying the entire folder over, and have tried copying just the contents inside the folder, I have been at this for 3 days reading every forum I can find on this but none of them tell me how to even see the emu on my dash let alone running them

does your dash have `Emulators` in the menu, like below ?


it should be just a simple case of FTP`ing the folder that contains your Emulator over to the xbox harddrives E/ partition Emulators folder

you could download Auto Installer Deluxe http://www.aidtracker.com/ and have that install the Emulators in the correct location without having to FTP anything yourself.

You can but it wont accomplish much. You still need to run XBMC before being able to play em. Cant play directly from the dash.

Yeah but you do it in XBMC. Just add directory. You could also (just a theory) edit the unleashx config file to make xbmc default media player so you can click on the movie and it would open it similar to how XBMP does music in Unleashx, but again it would need to boot XBMC to play it. But by far the easiest is just adding the video directory in XBMC, and if you want it to be nice and simple switch your dash to XBMC. You could add a music directory to Unleashx like that though so all your tunes come up nice and simple but sadly XBMP cant play AVI just low quality WMV8. If you wanted to convert all your movies to WMV8 editing the config like you asked above would work fine.
