hello i'm new to the site and xbox modding, a long time ago i screw up my xbox by doing something in xbmc and shutting down before it finished, i send it to repair it to someone who would modded it again as it stop booting anything, when i got it back it could load any game and the evox dash but when i open the tray it only goes to the xbox logo and then it freezes, after a lot of research i strongly believe i have a softmod and is doing the dual boot thing only the other dashboard does not appear to load i believe it should be loading the ms dashboard but its just what i believe, there are also a coulple of details when it loads the evox it appears a logo of evox+ red in the top corner when the xbox logo appears and the led light is orange, when is going to try the other boot mode the light is green and the evox logo of the top corner is not there,
What do you guys suggest me to do reinstalling the ms dashboard, format the c drive or what i really don't care about the ms dash i would rather have a single boot with xbmc as my main dash, and if possible the xbox light green xD
I have no original games so i can't get the softmod again if i screw up reinstalling something, i have the aid disc, i would like to get some advice about my options in a fool proof way if its possible.
i try the option of install ms dashboard in the dashboard section of the aid cd but did not do anything good only now instead of freezing i get error 21 when i start the xbox with the open tray
i can still get to the dashboard and the aid cd with the normal boot...
Can you explain me why the two boots differ in the evox logo when the xbox logo appears one has it and the one with the error does not, is that logo related to the bios? if so than it means its running two bios one that says evox and one that does not?
Please any suggestios will be appreciated
EDIT: well i was able to fix it by formatting the C drive with the AID disc and reinstall everything with a exploit apparently i have a chip too one of those that activate when you push the power button for longer than 2 sec this time i back up every thing so i dont screw up again, thanks for the help and cd its nice to know that the xbox is not completely dead and that forums like this are still active
