I've been having troubles with my X3 modded xbox, which I have chronicled in another thread. I had to resolder a point to fix it and now it acts all kinds of strange. I did a good solder job, so I am not sure what is up or if it's just at the end of it's life. After about an hour, it just shuts down as if it's too hot, but the temps are below 100f. I can't load Aid or any other dvd. They just wont boot or play from within XBMC.
At this point I am tired of messing with it. I have a working softmod with a smaller hard drive. I would like to take the hard drive out of the X3 xbox and move it to the softmodded xbox.
Anyone ever done something like this? I can't seem to find any info on the internets.
Thanks again for the site!

I don't want you to think i am calling you dumb but have you tried clearing the cache?
As for running it softmod you will need to be able to boot AID or have one of the 3 softmod games.

LOL! I am dumb, I never did try to clear the cache! BUT I have successfully rebuilt the C and E drive with the softmods C and E drive, so I am now using the larger drive in my softmod. I used xboxhdm and it is working well so far. The larger drive seems to have stayed formatted at 32kb clusters. Is there any way to check?
I am thinking about taking the chip out of the 1.0 xbox and moving it to a 1.6 that has no audio. Is that possible?
Thanks Wes!
