Hi, I got this one xbox with the x3 chip installed, I dont know whats up with it but it burns out the power/eject board. When you click the on or eject button smoke comes out and it pretty much kills the board. Ive tried 3 times they all fried, ( waste of boards =( I dont know what the hell is doing it, so
What I did was I took the X3 Chip out the xbox
and I plan on using this X3 solder less adapter I have.
Now I just need someone to tell me how to install it, the adapter has a lot of arms.
and also do I need anything else? Since it has to be on a V1.6 MOBO.
all I have is the X3 Chip and The solder less adapter.
anything else I need?
I know the X3 chip had some other stuff connected to it, but is it needed for it to work ?[/b]

AID 4.0 would have it.
Try clearing your E:\Cache and use V1.1. Should work if you clear your cache. _________________

Ok, if you have this version of Solderless Adapter like this one IMAGE then you need to install something similar to this style install TUT with or where the Multi-Colored wires are going.

Oh yeah I read some where you need to be careful and not to over tighten as not crack the ceramics inside the adapter you may need to read through the Team Xecuter Post..... _________________ Support A Hard Modder!

Since the X3 chip has a built in tool to set up the HDD what do you need XBpartitiner for?

The reason he asks is because (i only have a TSOP flshed xbox no chip but I think they're about the same thing please correct me if I'm wrong) even though I just threw my 1.5TB in there and loaded up my aids disk to automatically format it but the cluster size is incorrect and if left unchanged their will be data corruption. its been my experience any others as well that if you load up xbpartitioner 1.1 it will freeze if it sees a huge partition so the solution is to run xbpartitioner 1.0 and use 32k clusters than use xbpartitioner 1.1 and format it using 64k clusters. That way you have the proper cluster size and won't have a problem with freezing. I tried to walk him through it to no avail the only solution I could offer is walk him through it over the phone. too much to do via email. The earlier post about clearing the cache is a good idea too
