I have a problem with my friend softmod xbox. Everything was working perfectly fine until Sunday, when I bought a new game Madden 08 and attempted to rip to the HD. The xbox couldn't read the xbox live game, which I still don't understand why. But when I accidently clicked on something the xbox stopped working. Everytime I start it I get the Xbox logo and they it immediate goes to the black screen with green wording that says please contact customer service. No sure what that means but would really appreciate any type of help to get everything working properly which was having the xbmc dashboard. I'm clearly a newbie at this. Thanks in advance for all your help
Somethings happened to your Dashboard,
Can you still boot original games ? - Try to boot the game you used to run the exploit ..... Splinter cell, MechAssault or AUF. _________________

I cannot play any games..it goes straight to the black scree with green words in several difference languages. I don't have the game that I used to run the exploit...should I buy Splinter Cell and will it help me with my problems? Thanks for responding...

Well first off look in the top right hand corner and see what number is there. Tell us what number it is because that is the error code. _________________
That error means your harddrive is `unlocked` ..... Did your friend back up (to his PC) the xbox eeprom when he did the softmod ?
If he did you can rebuild the harddrive with `xbhdm` - If he didnt you are pretty much screwed, you`re going to need to build an Eeprom reader or install a modchip to get it sorted. _________________
To be honest, if you just want to get your xbox running again both options are going to cost you roughly the same, the easiest method would be to buy a cheap mod chip, something like an `Alladin` or a `Duo x2` and have a go at installing it yourself (If you have a Version 1.6 xbox the process is a little harder, not too hard to put you off, just a little harder)
Where in the World are you ? ..... If your in the UK i can supply you with a cheap chip, or even fit it for you. _________________

I think a member on here named scarface might still sell them, not sure though, haven't seen posts for him selling for a while.
Other than that your going to have a hard time finding a chip in the US. Back in augest 2007 the feds cracked down on mod chips and now almost no one sells chips around here anymore. _________________
