ok so I softmodded my xbox. now i am ready to upgrade to the larger HDD.
All of the guides you have linked me to need me to have a desktop pc where i can remove the HDD and but in my new one and boot from the CD, but i don't have a desktop. i travel constantly and only have a laptop.
How can i upgrade to a larger HDD with a laptop?

i did the softmod with the SID via you video tutorial and thats fine. i haven't done anything else just yet. that tutorial you link too for the upgrading HDD says it requires CHIMP. i don't have CHIMP installed as an app just yet. i do have the AID on a disc and ready to install.
shall i do the AID first?
if so, can you send me a better tutorial than the pdf provided with the AID please?
thanks!

Well you can install most any App, emu, just make sure if you want to install a different dash that you use ones that are labled soft mod.
Other then that installing the full AID disk to the HDD is one of the options on the disk.

No need to format or back up with AID but if you haven't already backed up you eeprom to your PC you might want to do that now.
