Ok..
Do this to get all your PC ip address information:
1. Choose Start Menu
2. Choose Run
3. Type 'cmd' and press enter
4. now a dos prompt will popup
5. Type 'ipconfig /all'
6. write down your ip address info and reply.
you need:
IP, SUBNET, GATEWAY, DNS information for your xbox..
Once you have this information you can then give your xbox a ip address.
Say your pc has a ip address of:
ip: 192.168.0.2
subnet: 255.255.255.0
Then you would give your xbox a ip of:
xbox ip: 192.168.0.3 or .4 or .100 whatever you want
subnet: 255.255.255.0
You then need to connect a network cable from your ROUTER/SWITCH/HUB to the xbox and you should be fine.
If you dont use a ROUTER/SWITCH/HUB and you only have a network card connected directly to the xbox you will need to use whats called a 'crossover' network cable..
i get this on the bottom of my dashboard 192.168.0.2 err
what is it and how can solve it

this seems like the best place for my question.
I regularly ftp to/from my evolutionX using Fetch on my Mac OSX. A consistent problem I've encountered is with single files over 600mb, such as M2V's for use with DaphneX. I always seem to get a "dropped connection" error at about 600mb, but haven't been able to confirm if this is normal behavior. I've ftp'd folders larger than 3 gigs without a problem, but I assume the contents have no filess over 600mb. My question is, should I continue to bother trying to find a workaround, or is this normal behavior? I'm using a crossover cable and the reason I don't use Xcommander is I'm trying to wind up with an M2V around 900mb, so as to play via DVD. I've discovered these Daphne games are playable without a complete movie, and I'm trying to maximize the games (Cliff Hanger) playabiltiy before I starts to miss movie files. I get the same issue with PSX cds, but in those cases I convert to xiso and burn. Anyone else have this problem?

Actually, the best place for your post would be a new topic seeming as how this one is older then dirt.... As for your question, I have no problems ftping divx movies over 700 mbs so I dont think that filesize is your problem. Unless its a mac problem.... I personlay refuse to buy anything apple cause in my opionion its overpriced junk. _________________

Though new to the xbox modding world, I think of myself as moderately capable of setting up networks. Using the steps found on the first page to help Steve69, I was able to access my xbox via flashFXP and view files, unfortunately, after only a brief time, possibly 20 seconds, it loses its connection with the xbox and I'm not able to reconnect. If I reset the xbox, it will allow me a connection for a short period again, and then time out, just the same. It only lets me connect just after booting, if I wait too long, I can't connect at all.
