A buddy of mine is backing up his dvd collection to a 300gig external hdd and I've been helping him out with this. Hes having a problem with a dvd that has me plain stumped. Hes using #1 DVD ripper and seems to be able to rip most of his dvds fine, but theres one thats been giving him trouble. Whenever we rip the movie, instead of hearing the audio all you hear is feedback. We've tried mpeg, avi, and wmv. For some reason the rest of his movies rip and play back fine, this is the only one we've run into trouble with. If anyone has any idea whats up with this let me know. _________________

Yeah... its not an issue with the software I dont think. It works ith every other movie he backed up. Just not that one. Its really not a big deal, just something that had me curious. _________________

How old is the DVD? I've realized mroe recent DVDs have had more and more safety to keep them from being ripped... If its just AUDIO, have him check the AAC3. You know, those Audio channels, I've yet to have a problem with them at the default setting without a problem happening to the video, which typically means the safety on the DVD was too advanced so the prog says (using my interruptation) "BERRRR! They beat you this time."
(Sorry for the long break people, went to Canada on a whim.)

He also has any dvd running in the background, which cancels out the anti copying stuff on the dvd. _________________
