nope still not going. tried the program above and a tool from seagate.
Still same error in Norton PartitionMagic 8.0 and alos still showing 7mb in XP

if you have an eeprom from the xbox you can use xboxhdm and unlock it and wipe the partition with it. _________________

Yeh I can get the eeprom from the Xbox and try that.

All work! Put in Xbox unlocked with ConfigMagic then formated in XP with Norton PartitionMagic 8.0.

Just a question tossing out there... Is the hard drive even detecting in the BIOS at bootup? (press del or F8 to enter bios depending on system may be different) _________________ Regards,

how would one unlock a hard drive ( to use for a pc ) that attemped to be modded for an xbox? The lock passwords have been lost..........is there anyway to reset this thing................also i dont really care about what is on it i just need to format this drive for a buddy ( its only a 40 gig ) but windows doesnt detect it. Any help would be useful , anybody got any ideas?
