when i was trying to put xbmc on i messed up a cpl times got some xml error, a dashboard error....etc....but no matter what as long as aid disc was in drive i could get in......

if i put aid on the harddrive...will it do the same thing?

will it always boot aid if something messes up?

you have to delete the old xmbc before installing the new one

i know....xbmc is all good.....im just saying that no matter what error i got while i was doing that....i could still access AID to fix it cause it was in the dvd.....

so what im asking is if i put AID directly on hd....would it do the same thing......meaning that if i #!$# something up will it allow me to have aid pop up no matter what so i can fix whatevr it might be?

No. AID can be installed to the HDD, but not gracefully. And you can't really have it default to AID when an error happens

yes. if you screw something up except the bios, AID should load straight from startup.
