Okay I'm a little lost.
Mame seems to me like a much more complex emulator than any of the other ones, what with needing the correct versions of roms, the correct version of bioses and whatnot.
It seems that mameox and mamedox and mame-x haven't kept up with mame (and devopment on these ports have ceased altogether over the years), maybe there is active development for the xbox 360, I'm not sure... but... my question.
Is there a good way to get the most uptodate mame port and then to get the correct version of a romset for that port? I've looked into finding the 0.84 (or 0.084 I'm not really sure) mame romset but outdated roms seem to not stick around.
Is it okay to grab the most uptodate romset and use something like RomCenter to clean out the incompatible roms for a nice little xbox mame romset? I don't really know that much about mame or romcenter (or the xbox for that matter) and I would rtfm if I knew where to even find it
Sorry if any of my above topics aren't appropriate for this particular forum (*for legal reasons or whatnot)

As far as the roms and version and such someone else will have to comment.
As for legality of topics, as long as you own versions of the original games then you can legally download and own ROMS, as you are allowed to make backups of any piece of software that you own.

Have you tried MAMEoX128 Plus! ? It is a fairly popular(updated) version of mameox. Here is a link to a program that should allow you to update your ROM sets to the newer emulators.

Yeah mane 128 is better to run now as for rom sets......just get the BAED3 A disc and you will be set with all the right rom sets and emu too. Thats you best bet...there are others but I can't list the sites and sence you already listed in this post that you own all the games then getting the AID3 disc is just a backup and thats the way you want to go....as to where to find it...google it. Anyother questions? Oh mane128 can play both the newer 128 ram romsets and the backdated ones too, but that is for the hardcore emu fans, who make and alter the rom files.
