ok my friend needs to unloack his hard drive he has a 160 gig hard drive but he mad someone install it but he can only use 120 gigs on his F drive so how does he use the rest and his hdd stats says locked

Locking does not effect the access to your storage. I can tell you how to lock/unlock the HD, but that wont help.
The problem is, you need a LBA48 patched bios to handle that task. Find out what bios he is using and get back to us. We can tell you what to do from there. We also need to know what version his xbox is _________________ Xbox 1.4

he'll need to backup F and re format once the reconfigured bios is applied
to gain the extra space

I haven't had to reformat, all it took for me was to enable G: in unleash and then format the drive from the file explorer.

I guess it should be asked: Is your friend hard or softmodded?
If he is softmodded he won't need it, he can just change the options in dash settings.

assuming he wants a G drive yes, but if not then he'll have to re format the F drive afterwards
