Have downloaded soft mod 1.1

Have downloaded action replay xbox
action replay will not accept the downloaded rar or the unrared folder or the
folder SID.splinter.cell.pal.v1.01.xbox-hq or the folder 5553000c or the
folder 21585554
How can i get these files onto the xbox cartridge or xbox?
Is there any other way to install them, i have a friend whose xbox is allready soft modded by a shop, and i have network cable.
the file you copy to your action replay is not supose to be a rar file.
I alway's have used a zip file.
so zip the Udata folder with the softmod in it to a udata.zip.
when you copy it to your action replay you should see the file as
"run linux".

When you make the zip make sure the file directory inside is "udata.zip\udata\<numbers for that game>\<numbers for that save>\<all the saved game files>" _________________

I am having the exact same problem with my Splinter Cell save. I rented MA Assualt yesterday but when I got the save game on my Action Replay it said "Mech Warrior" as the name instead of "Run Linux" and it made me play instead of loading the softmod. So I went back said it didnt work and got an original Splinter Cell only problem is I cant get the save game onto my Action Replay it says "Invalid" my directory is as follows:
UDATA.zip
UDATA/
folders with numbers
Is there some kind of Prog that will be able to find the Action Replay in windows or some kind of hack for action rpelay which doesnt check for a valid save?
Thanks,
X

If it doesn't show as a valid save, there is no way the MS Dash will load it. So you may have to make sure the save is correct. I know I uploaded the saves already made up and working on my AR Software to the VIP Section, but I don't think they are available any where else. when you look at the zip file, here is the exact dir path for the MA save. I could also email you this package so that you can use it if you like.
Oh, and you said you loaded it for MA? Did you make sure to copy it to the hard drive, and not just leave it on the mem card? It won't show up if you don't copy it to the hard drive.
Maybe that will help some. Like I said just email me at sjohnc@gmail.com if you need me to email you the file that I have that works fine with my AR. _________________

When I release SID 2.0 (alongside AID 2.0) I'll automatically make the gamesaves compatible with Action Replay (and in that case Mega X-Key aswell).

First of all I want to thank all the people who worked on SID!
I tried the software and it worked like a charm.
To help other people I'll give some info on how I did it and what I used to do it
First of all I read my ass of. I figured out Action Replay (AR) or mega X keys weren't always succesfull when trying to use softmod on your xbox, so I looked for an official xbox memory card.
I ended up with an officially licensed xbox memory card manufactured by trustmaster. It's a 2002 FIFA World Cup 8mb memory card.
The game I used was an original (so NO classic) (Tom Clancy's) Splinter Celll. The code on the inner circle of the disc is: US01210E L1 07 or you can see US01210E L0 01
I used v1.01 of the SID. And I already had a modded xbox to help me transfer the savegames from HD to memory card.
And that's it. I copied both save games (1 big 1 small) to the HD from the unmodded xbox and inserted the game. Pressed ' start game ' you see a linux profile and after that you hit checkpoints and the softmod menu boots up.
Created backups (on xbox hd and on my PC hd once I had the FTP/network setup, which worked perfectly with DHCP. Believe I did have to reboot, cause reset FTP or reset network didn't work. but maybe I made mistake, not sure anymore)
I didn't put the ms dash back on it, so can't tell you about that. The XBOX already had the latest MS dash, so no need to update that at all.
I do have some questions:
Is it possible to install a larger HD with SID v1.01?

You can just SID to work with a bigger hard drive, but to actually prepare the HDD for use in a Xbox can be very time consuming I've heard.
Personally I haven't done it yet so I can't really say much.

Here a newbie question:
How do i make a back-up of the eeprom?
I'm in the Softmod Installer Deluxe v1.01 menu and created a backup of c by using the "Create MS Backup" option. Now just to be on the save site i want to make a eeprom backup. Also how can i retrieve my hard drive lock key?
But i cant find any option to do this.
These are the options i have:
Create backup
Restore backup
Delete backup
Install Softmod
Install Evox
Install Unleash
Patch MS 5960
Settings
Saves manager
File Manager
Reset FTP
Reset Network
Open/close tray
Launch dvd
Restart xbox
Turn off xbox
I assume the softmod will change somithing in the eeprom en removes the hd lock.
Could somebody help me?
Thanx in advance

v1.01 got me past the non-installing dashboard...
Using MechAssault...
FYI - Still failed on the step that patches the MS dashboard.
It gave a script error, rename failure, and stopped.
I pulled up the XML file and performed the last group of steps manually and it all worked fine...
In any event - the reason it failed? There was no fonts folder present on C after the first part...it renamed fonts to fonts-modded and copied the stuff from the MS backup...no fonts folder there...so when it tried to rename fonts to f0nts it failed...
All I did was copy the fonts folder back, rename it to f0nts, then rename the fonts-modded back to fonts, renamed the xbe files, extracted the patch and ran it...voila - all done.
Should be an easy fix in the xml...assuming of course that I am not the only one with the problem...
Everything works as it should now...hopefully this will help someone else...
