hi i have sucessfully softmodded an xbox and everything is great but when i open the drive door i am sent to the installation screen,how do i get this from happening?what have i done wrong or have not done?i don;t want that screen to come up as someone may mess up my xbox pls help(screen boots to SID set-up when drive is open as xbox is booting up ,Thanks for this very great and easy SID app,

Are you familar with ftping to your xbox? If so you can go into c:\sid, and you should see a file named open.bin, you need to delete this file, then copy the closed.bin to your computer, rename it to open.bin, then upload it back. This feature is incase something ever happens to your dashboard, you can open the tray and have a "safemode" per se. _________________

You'd have to PM Forahobby about it, and he'll give you the information you need in order to send a money order.

Thanks for the the imformation guys i used box explorer to rename/delete the files and now no more SID when door is open while booting up,how can i get the microsoft dash to also boot up if i want to use the cd player?i got it mixed up with the files from my mod back-up and when i patched it the dash freezes as it is trying to load,and says trying to update xbox live.how can i seperate the microsoft dashboard files from the modded ones,this was my first time softmodding or modding for that matter.thanks to Sid and u guys it was a piece of cake,thanks once more for this GREATTTTTTTT app,will try to replace my hard drive with a bigger one soon as i get accustomed to the tutorial on how to do that using xbhm.(xion)peace.

now that i have removed the open.bin file and renamed the closed.bin file when i boot-up with the xbox drive closed i am getting a flashing red/orange led light and no dash booting do u think it is because i installed the unleashed dash to e/ and backed-up the microsoft dash to e/ but did not install a dash back into c/ that this is happening??will place a dash in c/ to see if that is the problem will post results.(Xion)peace.

Tried clearing the Action Replay cartridge, and copying the savegame over again. Still getting the service error message. I can only assume it doesn't like the action replay or their is a problem with the savegame in some way. Has anyone used the action replay to copy the data to the unmodded xbox and not got the service error?

Have xbox cartridge ,modded with usb
Have downloaded action replay xbox
action replay will not accept the downloaded rar or the unrared folder or the
folder SID.splinter.cell.pal.v1.01.xbox-hq or the folder 5553000c or the
folder 21585554
How can i get these files onto the xbox cartridge or xbox?
Is there any other way to install them, i have a friend whose xbox is allready soft modded by a shop, and i have network cable.

Xion, the problem using boxplorer as you have just now noticed, is that when you just rename a file, you no longer have the original file name there. As long as you named it open.bin you should be able to open the tray and access it like normal. Then ftp into it, and copy it, then rename it to closed.bin and ftp it back. See what I mean now? They both have to be there, and they both have to be the same file. _________________

Had no joy at all with the Splinter Cell PAL softmod using the original game and an AR. I managed to get hold of a copy of the original MechAssault (MS02301L L1 01) and tried it with the AR again. Didn't get the "call customer service" error, but just a black screen. Anyone any ideas where i am going wrong? I ftp the files in the softmod to a flashed xbox, transfer them to the AR via the msdash and copy then to the unmodded xbox. My AR is was bought from Game and is their brand of AR cartridge. Is this a problem?

There's reports of the newer AR corrupting large game saves, so this could be the problem, do you have an official MS mem card? You can place that in the AR dongle, and it will work fine. I haven't encountered these problems, so I'm not real sure really. _________________

Yeah I think this is where the problem is. I`ll get my hands on an official cartridge and give it another go with both Splinter Cell and Mechassault.

I've never used an Action Replay Memory Card (only official Xbox ones) and never had a problem.
Sounds like what Sjohn said could be correct, as it makes sense why a lot of people are having problems...
