Ive had my xbox modded for a while problem free, then it quit working. Ive got a version 1.1 xbox with a xecuter 2.3 lite + and a 40 gig Maxtor running the slayer 2.5 software.
The problem that im having is that it boots with no video (still hear the boot audio). then it gets stuck (i think it tries to reboot, but i hear no audio). I can't FTP into it in this state, though i CAN FTP into it when i unplug the A/V cable from the back of the xbox and boot with the chip on.
i have checked and reseated my chip a couple times to make sure the connection is good, seems to be fine (blue lights come on). It FRAGs when i switch the mod chip off and try to boot. When i put an xbox game in the drive and boot with the chip on, i can hear the boot audio and then i can hear the game audio.
what can it be? thanks for any replies!

Hm, that's a weird one. On my Xbox I can't FTP unless I leave the A/V connection in on startup. Then once it's booted my dash I can take it out and FTP. Ofcourse I can just leave it in and FTP like normal too.
The only thing I can think of why your normal dashboard won't work (modchip turned off) is maybe the drive isn't locked, but this would have nothing to do with no video being displayed on startup.
Sorry I can't help you out much more than this, hopefully some of our more qualified members can help you out...

Weird, All i can think of is that you have a bad BIOS. Or the connection on the motherboard has gone bad. _________________ "Modding the world, one xbox at a time"

have you be playing with the xbox video settings etc at all?
I would try and connect it to a couple of different televisions too.. It may be that your current tv doesnt support what video mode you have set..
Ive had that problem in the past!
If you have a friend with a xbox borrow or lend his AV cable and test your xbox.. It may be your AV CABLE!
