Hey everyone, this is the best fourm category i could find to post this question, please move it if its a problem. I have a xbox with was soft modded with softmod install deluve 3 splinter cell. so after i did that i decided to upgrade to a 80gig hard drive. with some help from some fine people here i got that working perfectly. but, someone who didnt kno what they were doing got ahold of my xbos and well u can guess the rest from there. the new 80gig harddrive was comepleatly fucked, as in i could not even hotswap with my pc and do a clean install with xboxhdtools. So i dug thru some stuff and found my old 9gig retail hd with had been softmodded as well. it was workin fine. so i tryed to clone it with xboxhdtool. well the bottom line is it has just not been goin well and somehow i seem to have lost the unlock password for the 80gig drive so i cant start it from scarth and relock it for use again. Anyone have any idea how i can just totally reset the HD? i really hoped its not totally wasted. thanks again for the help.

how did you lock it?
i hope you locked it with eeprom from the xbox because a softmodded xbox needs a locked hd with the eeprom from the xbox. _________________

off the top of my head doesn't xbhdm use xboxscene as a master password, also if you have the original eeprom still you should be able to unlock the hardrive by generating a lock and unlock key
try creating a boot disc with xbhdm then boot to selection 3
unlock - a
treboot
clone the drive
reboot
slect option 3
then lock -a
Hope that helps
ps xbins have a complete sofmod package that you can preload into xbhdm so you don't actually have to clone your existing drive.
