I just installed an Aladdin Live chip, and a 200GB WD hard drive.
after the box has been on more than 15-20 min. if I turn it off and back on, the LED will flash red/orange, then go green, the original XBOX xcreen loads and I get an error code. I have to let the box totally cool off 30 min or longer, then it boots fine. Sometimes in middle of games after its been running, it freezes and have to reboot. But again, have to let it sit for awhile before it will boot properly. WTF and how do I fix it?
r u running a dash (evox) that shows temp. you can do the fan mod take the black wire form the fan pull it out of the plug add a wire, make it longer, than ground it to the motherboard, go to xbox scene for the indepth details or search google (xbox fan mod) that should find it, you can also buy a fan that attaches to the side of the xbox off ebay or other sites I have one it makes a little diff. for now you can take the top off the xbox see if it runs cooler than you can determine if this is the problem _________________ XBOX ver.1

ok...the HD wasn't locked. I locked the HD, NOW when it won't boot to the chip...it will boot to the MS Dash. So is it the mod chip thats overheating? now I'm more confused than I was....

I can only console you on the fact that you have a chip which if you look through the a lot of the previous threads in this section, seems to have a lot of technical issues.
Whether yours is chip related or not, it's hard to say. Some people have the Aladdin chips and have no issues, but it seems to have a higher failure rate than a lot of other chips that I see being installed.
I cannot talk of experience with these chips because I refused to install them. Forahobby sent me two Aladdin Lives so I can install them in a machine and see how it goes....but, I haven't the kahooters to do it as of yet....lol.

i dislike the aladdin chips also .
a have tried the duox2 (cromwell flash)
chips and i like those a lot better ,
try using a dash like unleashx with a skin that will tell you the cpu temp,
that way you will know if your cpu is overheating ,
if in fact your cpu or your video chip is overheating you can pull off the heatsinks and replace the factory thermal goo with arctic silver , \
i do that to some xboxes when i have nothing better to do , _________________ Xbox v1.0/1.1/1.5/1.6a

Just for S and giggles...mayyyyybe theres a short in one of the wires??? (ok i'm reaching...drowning man and all) unsoldered everything. replaced all wires as short as possible (since in a previous thread somebody said excess wire gave theuir aladdin problems) resoldered em. no good
tried getting ahold of Aladdin. if he doesn't answer with something I'm putting an executer chip in this weekend. JEEZ!!!
oh and i left it on avalaunch dash just sitting and running to check the temps.
MB is 96-109ishF CPU gets up to 1465F
cpu seems pretty high to me since my computer would be in seizures at that point.....yes? no?

the temp looks a bit high but nothing that you have to worry about ,
ive seen quite few of them running at the same temps as yours without
any problems ,
id say go with xenium or duox2 cromwell flash if u want it cheap _________________ Xbox v1.0/1.1/1.5/1.6a
