I have partitioned and formated a 80GB seagate harddrive with fatx using xboxhd, I can lock and unlock the drive (no password for some reason )
I can even browse the drive using the xbrowser tool and see all the files, in short everything seems fine, but, if I boot the pc from the linux boot floppy disc it says invalid partition.
If I reboot from the linux DVD and use xbrowser again everything still seems ok.
My xbox has no modchip so this is purely a softmod.
Any ideas where i'm going wrong please _________________ XBOX V1.0

Just to update, I get error 6 when I try to boot from the 80GB drive, which I have discovered means that the xbox can't unlock it.
Does it need to be installed unlocked
Do I need to set the hd key as the password as I have noticed they are both 32 characters
Help what's going on _________________ XBOX V1.0

Wild guess here. Did you used the lock unlock utility that comes with the program. If not just run the prog. again and lock the hd. Hope this helps. _________________ 2 Xbox V 1.0

I stopped being myself because I want to be what I was.

Just to update, everything is now fine, it seems I did everything correctly but for one little flaw.
Now I don't know if it's because my xbox is softmodded or not, but evox gave me the wrong hd locking key.
I think this is because evox is using a diiferent eeprom.bin than the one in my xbox (could be my configuration)
I managed to get my correct eeprom.bin file from the backup directory created by the ltools installation, when I ran xboxhd this gave me the correct hd key.
I've posted this in the hope it may help any other softmodders having similar problems. _________________ XBOX V1.0
