Just wondering what methods everyone prefers. I have been using the Xenium Ice's on the 1.6's for quite some time, but due to the amount of requests I have had for the SmartXX chips I started to carry those.

I just used the LPC PCB for the first time. Was a little awkward at first. I'm not a big fan of laying solder directly on those little holes...lol. But, it was a lot easier than cutting and stripping those damn wires!!

I was expecting a frag my first time with the PCB, but fired right up no issues.

Since I've only ever done one system (a 1.1), but I know what you're talking about, I had to choose option 3. I wouldn't be afraid to try a 1.6 though, if I had to, granted that I read up enough on them first and had the proper tools and materials. In that case, I would probably do a wire install, unless someone else was providing the funds to get the PCB piece.

I was very intimidated too. The very first one I did the LPC rebuild took me like an hour...HA. But, it worked fine.

My second one fragged though. I had to redo the LPC rebuild....then I realized that I could have just used my multi-meter and checked continuity...

I have learned a lot by my mistakes Smile

I tell you what though, using that LPC Rebuild PCB was super sweet!

I just used the SmartXX LPC rebuild PCB on a Xenium Ice mod chip....unbelievable. I can now chip a 1.6 machine in less than ten minutes!! I am in love with this rebuild PCB.

I seriously recommend anyone who does a lot of new machines and used the SmartXX or the Xenium Ice to get these PCB's. They are wonderful!

The rebuild pcb's will work for any chip, I use them for duox2's, aladdins' executer 3's etc.

aladdin are even making there own one, but am not fussed on aladdins anymore.
