Im looking for a new screen cap program for doing the PC part of my XBOX tuts. The main thing is that writing comes out clear so people can see what Im doing, a zoom function would be sweet as well.
Im currently using CamStudio (opensource) which works if I jack my resolution to 1024x768 and switch all writing to 150% but I hate having to constantly switch and logg off. So any suggestions along with links would be appreciated

I want to redo the PC part of my tuts like AID etc to go with the HD tuts Im putting out now (got a big one coming your way later today) and I want it so people can read the writting on the screen, see folder names etc. I got the HD RGB kit for XBOX so the vids from that look excellent and I would like to have at least close to the same quality with the PC ones. The closest Ive come is using my old PC thats got a GT5200 with Svideo and a Dazzle recorder but that PC is so old it takes me almost a half hour to extract a 1GB 7z.
To complete the tut Im working on now I need to do 3 vids on my PC or else use old ones that look like shit. I want all of them to have this kind of quality.

Glad to see your qualities getting better, though you should skip ahead of the waiting bit I always see YouTube users complaining about the waiting part. You should think about getting a dazzle capture card also, I saw a capture card on Amazon for a 10 bucks but it isn't dazzle.
Though is CamStudio Camtasia?

You cant win on that, you cut the vid and people whine and say it was doctored. Way I look at it if they dont like my vids they can beat it and go use some crappy half ass tut on Youtube done by people with no clue. I get the same thing with the music but honestly I dont care if someone doesnt like it, if they want different tunes they can make their own vid or turn the volume off.
I have no use for a capture card I have 2 already a Dazzle and a Roxio, besides with 4 PCs I need something I can use on all. Thats why Im looking for something software based.
Camstudio is a opensource program I grabbed off sourceforge.com

I love it, I even got a thumbs up from the Greek black metal band Rotting Christ for one of my vids that uses there music. I send copies to all bands whose music I use and out of the big name bands them and Orphaned Land are the only ones to respond. Just wish I could get the PC part of it to be a little clearer its actualy a real pain using Camstudio because none of my video editing programs will pick up the AVI files it makes until I reencode them as MPG2 with AVC. This was the vid I got the response on Ive got it as my channels title video.
You Are Dead
Im gonna start doing LA Noire vids tonight after work. And see what I can find at the PC shop for paid screen capture programs in case I can get something on par with Roxio or Dazzle. And thanks for cleaning up the links in the tuts I just cant remember them. Heads to cramed with XBOX info

I managed to find a deadly screen cap program for my PC records games in 1080, gets the writing on the screen absolutely perfect and unlike camstudio this one picks up the audio from my 6850. Heres the first vid Ive done with it. Resident Evil 4 on PC intro movie
Now that I got this sucker all PC portions (except while using XBOXHDM) of my tuts will be redone in HD to match the XBOX portion. Also for any of you PC gamers theres gonna be a flood of PC gameplay videos hitting PC-hq especialy Resident Evil, Godfather, Command and Conquer/ Red Alert Transformers and many others

If there's ever a song I don't like I just mute it and pull up a song from my files but I've liked most of your music so far. You should still think about getting a tripod for your camera. Even if it doesn't fit yo ucould probably tape it on there. Just some ideas to increase your quality I heart your vids though.

I wasnt refering to anyone here, I got some hate mail from some religous nuts on Youtube about me being a devil child and shit like that because I used Behemoth in a few of my videos. Which I find hilarious since I use Orphaned Land more than any other band and their hardcorely religous.

I shut em up pretty quick by sending them a link to my video about the whole Catholic Priest/ Choir Boy debacle dubbed to Raped By The Light Of Christ by At The Gates live at Waken Open Air. But its stuff like that and people who have no clue how to do a rebuild leaving stupid coments that makes me not realy care what the people on their think. I do my vids for my friends and the people here and couldnt give a damn what some putz on Youtube thinks about me cause they dont like heavy metal music
