So I've been working on this guy for quite some time. Finally finished the CAD drawings and the programming for the CNC machine.
Almost done installing all the components, just waiting on a couple small parts to come in, and should be built and ready to show
within the next 3 weeks! Leave a comment or send me an email at thejacobauerbach @ gmail . com if you like the prototype and are interested
in having me build you one. Almost everything can be custom from any engravings you want all the way to which ports you want accessible or what color you want.

I will either make a new post, or update this one with pictures/video of the completed portable as soon as the last few parts arrive.
Again, if anyone is interested send me an email at thejacobauerbach @ gmail . com with any custom information you want with yours, or any questions you have. I will be selling them in order of the email requests I get. Thanks for taking a look!
(turn around time between 2-5 weeks after ordering, depending on how long the materials take to ship)

Here are the finished CAD drawings (the pieces have already been cut on the CNC machine, exact to the thousandth of an inch)
Dimensions: Length - 16 inches
Width - 10.75 inches
Height - 3.5 inches

(Keep in mind your orders can be totally customized, but here are the most basic ports on my prototype)
Ports: 2x USB
2x 3.5mm Headphone/external speaker jack
1x Standard power chord input

Buttons (left to right): Eject, Volume Down, Power, Volume Up, Sync

Options include(but are not limited to):
Built in speakers
Built in wifi
Built in power brick
# of USB connections
# of Headphone/Speaker jacks
Color of the unit
Engravings on the unit
Hard Drive size/accessibility
Screen Size from 16in - 22in

Edit* Sorry about the picture quality, I accidentally scaled the resolution down to a pretty poor quality

Update*
After looking around all over the place I realized I was going to have to create my own buttons for the xbox...so I got started on designing them earlier today and just finished. Also I spent the whole day in the lab on saturday and actually had to make the vices and clamps (sounds a lot easier than it really is...lots of machining involved for such simple stuff) so I finished the first piece of the four...I wont post too many pictures since I am going to make a new post when everything is done but here are a couple. Also there was one mistake I made in the programming which made the left and right sides of this piece different sizes by a tenth of an inch, but no worries its an easy fix.

Finally set up and ready to start the inside

The coolant was blocking the fun stuff!

Halfway there...

Done!

Nice build but if you want more props for it you might want to post it in the 360 site here: http://www.360-hq.com/ and while your at it you can upload the pics using the attach file option or size the pics as they are stretching the page bro.

Last but not least i need you to post Ebay refs to show selling cred before we can allow you to sell on this site we don't know you from Bob here, sorry but all this was in the rules had you took the time to read them.

Thanks and P.S. don't double or triple post.

Great project man, no need to delete it since it xbox related anyway..
Very similar quality to Ben Hecks Laptops. He does them for THQ and microsft etc

No doubt all our Xbox 1 members will eventually get a 360 if they haven't already.

anyway, i will reply on your 360-HQ thread too, im very impressed, wish i had the coin.

Thanks for the kind words! I really can't wait to put this together. I've already got all the hard work and modding done, I just need to find a couple free hours in the lab to run the plastic through the CNC machine. I'm just on a very busy schedule the next few weeks so it might be a month or so :/
I'll repost with any updates.

On the bright side the reason I'm making them is because I want people to get their hands on these. The first time I saw BenHecks price of $5000 I couldn't believe it! I figured "hey I can do that..." and so it began.

You may want to also post the technical specs, usb ports are all well and good, but since its obviously a form of EMU its gonna need more juice than a 360 to run, and I for one wouldnt pay without knowing what it uses for video, cpu, ram, mobo and without videos showing it works with a vast array of 360 games

Actually it's just a new Xbox 360 Slim with 250GB HDD, and the stock DiscDrive. It's got the 360s power brick built in, which is actually supplying power for the LCD too. The LCD is a Gateway 17in widescreen with 1280 x 720p resolution (which looks perfect with Xbox 360 games considering thats what most are formatted in). So no real "laptop" here. I just can't exactly call it a "portable" because it requires a single power cord to use it like a laptop does. But hey, anywhere theres an outlet this baby works!

Yeah I can't wait to post the video for it, but it will be at least a month before I've got enough time. I just wanted to get the information and the CAD pictures out there to get people excited without spoiling anything.

If its a 360s how do you fit the MOBO and everything into those dimensions without causing serious heat builup? . Did you replace the heatsink with a more effective one? Its great if you got it up and running but when stuff goes small I always worry Ive cooked enough gaming laptops and old 360 to be very cautious when it comes to heat.

Looking at your drawings I figured it for a PC based knockoff like those consoles that play sega, snes and nes games via hardware emulation or how the 360 does the orig xbox

The new Slim Xbox 360s actually have an amazing super-cooling fan right over the heatsink that does a job you wouldn't believe. I've actually given the motherboard more room in this build then it has in the regular case. But I too was really worried about over heating, so there are plenty or vents/grills on the top and bottom to keep good airflow along with the fan thats already provided. No worries though, there will be plenty of testing with the prototype for this purpose!

If any administrator can resize the images I posted that would be great, I don't want people mad for the screen stretching and I cant seem to do it without totally ruining the resolution. Thanks!

Nice job but it's a bit chunky. You should have got a super slim heatsink and DVD drive so it could be a bit less...big. I know somebody made a slimbox, an xbox hacked up a bit so it was as small as a 360.
